Kind of a wild chain of events. Realistically I don't think there was another program Mendenhall would have left for. It was very unfortunate that Utah State happened to be open

At the same time, I think New Mexico nailed the hire again with Eck. He's what this program needed and honestly he's been used to losing guys to the portal and reloading with more talent so he's ready for the challenge
