I live at the corner of MA, CT and NY between NYC and Albany. This weekend I flew a small plane with my son.

I’ve seen the Northeast from jets and drones but cruising just a few thousand feet up, it hit me:

Even in the “crowded” Northeast, there’s massive amounts of untouched, open land. It’s wild. 

Totally untouched. Not even farmland, just millions upon millions of acres of woods.

The areas “zoned” for development are tiny. 

It’s one of the most beautiful places on earth but real estate prices are high like everywhere else.

Here’s the other thing. These aren’t old wood forests. Almost every tree had been cut down a century ago, 

I’d might be pleased if I could access and use all this land but local gun and fishing laws make that almost impossible. 

I understand conservation and support @braxton_mccoy but this is land just 1-2 hours from Manhattan, not in the deep interior and our rights to use the land are massively hampered by law.

Snd even the private land is near impossible to build on if you’re not a billionaire and don’t have a team of lawyers on staff.
