As to the impact on Canada, we only make one consumer EV here, and it is a low volume niche muscle car from Stellantis, that we will not be viable without access to the US market. It’s been a flop anyways.

Tesla prices in Canada jumped XX% (and sales died) with just a partial impact of tariffs, with still some protection under USMCA until next year. Canada looks to have been able to source the model Y from Germany, bringing prices back to normal on that vehicle.

It’s possible we could import some Hyundai and Kia products directly from Korea.

We can possibly import some European electric vehicles, but these tend to be expensive, and not high volume products.

I think the best scenario is for Canada to drop its US matching retaliatory tariffs on China of XXX% on EV’s . This would give us Tesla and Volvo vehicles at very good prices, along with some new brands that are leaders in the field.

What are your,predictions?
