🎯 Why STL might deal him?

St. Louis is currently operating w/ an Estimate payroll near around 164M, a 20Mestimate drop off from the 2024 payroll (183M).

The Cardinals this offseason made it clear spending was not going to be an option as RP Phil Maton as their only Free Agency acquisition.

There was also no secrete, STL wanted to move off Nolan Arenado's contract, they have yet to do so. Leading towards the assumption, St. Louis is looking for creative ways to reduce payroll. 

Moving off Ryan Helsley elevates 8.2M for this seasons payroll, as he will become an UFA this offseason.
