Morality is Universally Preferable Behaviour (UPB). You cannot argue against UPB without requiring UPB. If a behaviour cannot be universalized, it cannot be moral. Let us look at rape, theft, assault and murder. The proposition "Stealing is UPB" = "Everyone must want to steal and be stolen from at all times." However, if you want your property to be taken, it is not theft (think of putting your old couch on the sidewalk with a sign "take me"). Therefore, the proposition "Stealing is UPB" creates immediate self-contradictions, and so cannot be universalized, and is thus invalid. The proposition "Respecting property rights is UPB" can be universalized, and is therefore valid. The proposition "Rape is UPB" fails for the same reasons. This would mean that everyone must want to rape and be raped at all times. However, it is impossible to want to be raped, since rape is by definition forced and unwanted sexual activity. Thus rape can never be UPB. The same proofs go for assault and murder. DONE. Let the games begin!
