The Lakers' new additions need to hit on day one.

Their offseason hasn't been flashy.

They've added:

🔹Deandre Ayton: expected to anchor the paint.
🔹Marcus Smart: a veteran leader.
🔹Jake LaRavia: a young wing who could carve out a real role.

That's it.

No blockbuster trades. No wild splashes.

And all three have a ton of pressure:

🔸Ayton needs to finally play to his size.
🔸Smart will log heavy minutes and is expected to stabilize the perimeter defense.
🔸LaRavia? He needs to focus on breaking into the rotation.

But is that enough? The West is loaded.

The OKC Thunder are the defending champions, and still getting better.

The Denver Nuggets retooled and reloaded around Nikola Jokic.

The Houston Rockets just landed Kevin Durant.
