We ditched them and earned €23K more.

I've been running upsell tests for years,
but this one genuinely caught me off guard.

We completely removed the product suggestions from our cart drawer for our high-end cookware brand, and the results stunned our team:

Revenue per user: +2.68% ↑
Conversion rate: +1.03 ↑
Avg order value: Still went up slightly (crazy, right?)

The psychology makes sense:
Without distractions, customers stayed focused on completing their original purchase instead of overthinking.

The cleaner design also made the items in their cart feel more premium.

This one tweak will bring in an additional €23K in monthly revenue
(by cutting out something we assumed was necessary.)

It's a good reminder that sometimes less beats more in optimization.
