There’s solid evidence that volcanic activity contributed to melting ice sheets at the end of the last ice age, but it’s not the only factor and isn’t the most widely accepted single cause.

One study found that massive eruptions in West Antarctica about XXXXXX years ago might have hastened the ice age’s end by affecting the ozone layer and warming the region, while other research shows that volcanic ash darkened ice, reducing its reflectivity and speeding melting by absorbing more sunlight.  
This is a recognized theory among scientists, but most agree that *overall global warming trends*—driven by changing orbital cycles and greenhouse gases—were the primary forces ending the ice age, with volcanic activity acting as an extra “push” or accelerator rather than the sole reason.
