R126 Electricity Fixed Charge Suspended in Ekurhuleni

The Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, has suspended the R126 fixed electricity tariff charge following a meeting with the Thembisa Community Forum and local ward councillors. Joined by MMCs Jongizizwe Dlabathi (Finance) and Mzayifani Ngwenya (Energy), the mayor acknowledged possible shortcomings in how the charge was communicated. Residents have been urged to clear the roads.
