Quality Chemical Industries Ltd is investing UGX XXX billion to start producing tuberculosis drugs and other previously imported medicines. The expansion will increase annual production from XXX to XXX billion tablets at its Luzira plant and introduce TB injectables. #NTVNews 

This move supports the government’s drive for local drug manufacturing to boost self-reliance, create jobs, and save foreign exchange. Uganda registers about XXXXXX TB cases and XXXXX deaths annually. Currently, only XX% of TB medicine demand is met locally, but the company aims to raise this to 70–90%.
