Numb is one of Linkin Park’s most recognisable tracks, released in 2003 as the third single from their second album, Meteora. The song blends alternative rock, nu-metal, and electronic elements, with Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda writing lyrics about frustration, pressure, and the struggle to be yourself when others want you to change. Numb struck a chord with anyone who’s felt misunderstood or pushed to fit someone else’s expectations. Meteora itself cemented Linkin Park’s place in early 2000s rock, following the success of Hybrid Theory and helping the band sell millions of records worldwide.
