Kenya travelled to Arusha on a chartered flight for the Four Nations pre-tournament friendlies.

However, just seven hours before their opening match against Tanzania, they withdrew from the competition on the instruction of head coach Benni McCarthy.

Part of the official statement reads:

“This decision has been made following recommendations and advice from the team’s technical bench, led by Head Coach Benni McCarthy, after a thorough assessment of the prevailing conditions, which were deemed unsuitable for the team’s participation and overall preparation.”
