Russia wants to fine people for using crypto as payment

Starting in 2026, Russians may face penalties for making payments in cryptocurrency.

A draft law is already in the works, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets. According to him, crypto is currently in a “gray zone,” and fines will “help bring order.”
