The diagram below shows three key layers of @EspressoSys

=>L2 (Layer 2): Execution and batching
=>Confirmation Layer: Ensures data availability and consensus
=>L1 (Layer 1): Anchors trust and finality.

Now let me explain better; 👇🏾

Watch it closely and slowly, You can see how rollups kick things off in Layer X
In the GIF, the action starts with two types of rollups:

>Optimistic Rollups: Fast execution, checks come later
>ZK Rollups: Use cryptographic proofs for hidden, secure validation

Each has its own Sequencer, which lines up transactions, and either an Executor (for Optimistic) or Prover (for ZK), which runs the logic.

⏩️

Then, data moves to the Confirmation Layer
This is where Espresso steps in to protect and verify:

>Espresso DA makes sure all data is available
>HotShot quickly confirms what happened

You’ll see data flowing up to this layer, where it’s safely locked in through agreement, so rollups don’t have to worry about that part themselves.

⏩️

Finally, everything settles in Layer X
The GIF shows how confirmed results head to the final layer:

• Smart contracts record what happened
• Layer X locks it down for security and future reference

This ensures that even if rollups run independently, their data and actions are stored in a secure, public way.

⏩️

Why this is powerful
With Espresso, rollups can move fast and stay decentralized.
The Confirmation Layer acts like a safety net, and Layer X makes sure it’s all trustworthy. No need for central control.
