A new ant colony is about to start.

That's a queen and that is just mated. Generally, only the queen ants (reproductive females) and male ants (drones) have wings. These winged ants, also known as alates, leave the nest to mate during what is called a "nuptial flight". Their mating occurs in flight. After mating, the queen ant sheds her wings and begins to build a new colony. Male ants die shortly after mating.

So, what we witness here is an already mated queen, shedding her wings which are not needed again, and going to start her own colony.
