La Bombonera or Estadio Alberto J Armando is the home of Boca Juniors football club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The nickname "La Bombonera" (The Chocolate Box) comes from its D-shaped design, with three steep, tiered stands and one flatter, more vertical side of boxes. Legend has it the architect likened it to a box of chocolates.

Due to space constraints in the dense La Boca neighborhood, the stadium was built upwards with incredibly steep stands. This verticality brings fans exceptionally close to the pitch, creating an intensely intimate and often deafening atmosphere.

When the passionate Boca Juniors fans ("La Doce" - The 12th man) jump and chant in unison, the stadium is famously said to vibrate, creating a sensation that "it doesn't shake, its heart beats."
