Asian stocks traded narrowly. Japan futures fell after Prime Minister Ishiba’s coalition lost its majority in the upper house election. 

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropped slightly, led by Taiwan Semiconductor and Commonwealth Bank. Australia and Taiwan markets opened lower, but China and Korea stocks rose. Japan’s markets are closed for a holiday.
