First, you need to understand how Net Asset Value per share works as share ownership gets diluted whilst its value per share increases.

I try to break this down as simply as possible but if you still have a hard time with the math, I encourage you to go research whatever you think is missing and do your own independent calculations. Then check your results with what I have here. It's the best way to learn.
