They’ve added: 🔹Deandre Ayton is expected to anchor the paint as the new starting X. 🔹Marcus Smart, a veteran leader. 🔹Jake LaRavia, a young wing who could carve out a real role. That’s it. No blockbuster trades and no wild splashes. And the three have a ton of pressure. Ayton needs to play to his size finally. Smart will log heavy minutes and is expected to stabilize the perimeter defense. And LaRavia? He needs to focus on breaking into the rotation. But is that enough? The West is loaded. OKC is the defending champ, and still getting better. Denver retooled and reloaded around Nikola Jokic. Houston just landed Kevin Durant. Did the Lakers do enough to stay in the fight?
