You can’t tell me that what worked for generations on TV won’t work today. Feels intentional to write out dad characters. Strong male characters are mostly superheroes, almost always without a family. Being a mom is still seen as a good thing, but I think the whole girl power and girl boss era has erased dads. And lots of masculinity with it. Feels very intentional when you survey the pop culture landscape as a whole.
