What’s fair then? This is all complicated by FOM and the FIA knowing that this action by Renault was deliberate cheating, and then colluding to cover that up so that no remedy would have to be taken prior to the end of a season, making it exceedingly complicated to rightfully alter the result. That was a goal of FOM and the FIA, as has been plainly stated by Bernie. And it’s a bit of the crux of the current legal battle. I’d be fine awarding a co-championship, but I find that equally unfair. What makes the most logical sense is to exclude the only tainted result and simply use all the ones that were wholly fair, and then determine a victor.
