ICE officers in Providence, R.I., arrested Ivan Rene Mendoza Meza, an illegally present, 27-year-old Honduran national and known member of MS-13.  

Mendoza’s criminal history includes fentanyl trafficking charges in Rhode Island.   

ICE Boston lodged an immigration detainer against Mendoza following his arrest for fentanyl trafficking charges; however, the 6th District Court of Rhode Island ignored the detainer and released him back into the community without notifying ICE. As a result, ICE officers had to arrest Mendoza at large in the community.  

Mendoza is a self-admitted member of MS-13 in Honduras and states he has committed crimes on behalf of the gang. 

🌎MS-13 is a violent transnational terrorist organization. We won’t stop until they’re out of this country.
