🇨🇭 SCIENTISTS GROW 400+ BRAIN CELL TYPES IN A DISH

ETH Zurich just unlocked a cheat code to the human brain: growing 400+ neuron types from stem cells, no skulls required.

They cooked up these nerve cells using a precise recipe of morphogens and genetic switches, mimicking how real brains develop during early life.

This could lead to lab-grown models for Alzheimer’s, schizophrenia, and other disorders - making drug testing more accurate and less rodent-dependent.

Next up? 

Fine-tuning the process so each dish doesn’t come out like a chaotic neuron stew.
