Here's the thing that he misses and that many, many people miss.  Bitcoin's value is in its incorruptible LEDGER.  The "coins" are tokens against that ledger, but inseparable from it.  

As Lyn Alden talks about, gold carries its ledger around with it.  You have it, the trade is settled.  Bitcoin is the same.  You have it, the trade is settled but the token is not physically tangible but that doesn't mean it's valueless.  Most of our fiat is also not physically tangible.

Gold folks think of coins and bars but just don't (or won't) wrap their heads around the concept of the pristine, unchangeable "ledger in the sky".
