Lakers have enough scorers and scoring

Smart even in a down season last year was 90th percentile in perimeter isolation D and 4th among guards in DEPM. 

They needed defense at POA and wing and toughness

An experienced guy who helped a team get to the finals and DPOY

That's exactly what they got.

You got a guy that complains about his role and scoring opportunities and gets into fights with his coaches when they ask him to play some defense or change his role, and has a single semi finals appearance on his resume.
