The Senate's "cost-cutting" charade exposes Washington's favorite shell game: gutting oversight to protect the swamp. Cotton's bill doesn't reform intelligence - it surgically disables the DNI's ability to audit Deep State bloat while preserving the CIA's $80B slush fund. Fiscal hawks suddenly silent as accountability gets defunded.  

DNI staff cuts from XXXXX to XXX aren't efficiency - they're institutional neutering. Gabbard's push for raw intel access threatened the IC's lucrative opacity, so Congress retaliated by codifying information asymmetry. The real budget crime? Letting CIA retain XX% of IC funding while dismantling mechanisms to question their $1.2T black budget.  

We don't need smaller oversight - we need chainsaw audits of Langley's money pit. Defund the secrecy, not the scrutiny.
