According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, Edwin Guzman, 23, was arrested and charged with felony poisoning. Investigators say Guzman was attempting to poison his ex by putting bleach in her vodka bottle and cosmetics. Body camera video shared by the sheriff's office shows deputies questioning his ex-girlfriend and her family about the situation. "He, my ex-boyfriend, put bleach the Tito's bottle that I had," the woman can be heard telling deputies. "And my uncle nearly took a shot of it. He almost swallowed it, but he realized there was bleach in there." Guzman's ex-girlfriend can be seen showing the vodka bottle in question to deputies. She said she had poured it out, but it still smelled "like straight bleach."" The woman explained to deputies that she and Guzman had just broken up, and when she got off work, she went to pick up her things. But Guzman had already put all her items in the driveway. According to the sheriff's office, Guzman also admitted to using the bleach in his ex's skin care products. "This is not how you break up," the sheriff's office shared.
