Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Runs:
1993 – Contested in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) primaries (lost to MKO Abiola).

2007 – Ran under the Action Congress (AC).

2011 – Contested in the PDP primaries (lost to Goodluck Jonathan).

2015 – Contested in the APC primaries (lost to Buhari).

2019 – Was the PDP presidential candidate (lost to Buhari).

2023 – Again, PDP presidential candidate (lost to Bola Tinubu).

So in total, he has run in primaries or general elections at least six times, and on the presidential ballot three times (2007, 2019, 2023).
