Polkadot parachains: role and connection mechanisms

@Polkadot is a multi-chain platform based on the idea of parachains operating under the supervision of a single Relay Chain

A parachain is an independent blockchain with its own set of rules and validators, sharing the security and consensus of the Relay Chain

The connection mechanism begins with a slot auction: projects compete by locking DOT or engaging the community through crowdloans

After winning a slot and obtaining a place in the dedicated chain, the parachain is supported by collators - nodes that form and transmit logs to the Relay Chain

The XCMP protocol is used for cross-chain interaction, allowing messages and assets to be exchanged between parachains with minimal delay

This architecture provides high scalability, configuration flexibility, and shared security for all ecosystem participants
