The Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG hierarchy is now stating that the protest won’t be stopped, but it still warns serving officers not to join. That contradiction is a sign of panic and a lack of respect for police personnel. They call this protest “weaponized,” yet they admit the suffering is real. They say they care, yet police retirees beg on the streets. They talk of future projections, while pensioners are dying of hunger today. You can’t beg for peace while denying justice. You can’t pretend to protect rights while threatening those who exercise them. You can’t claim reform while keeping police officers in barracks like prisoners when they ask to exercise their rights.
