The Global Hockey Program began in 1947.

Canada sought to heal the post WWII-world with hockey. X North American teams and X International teams launched the Program by slicing a royal cake, frosted by Queen Elizabeth, herself.

The "Ontario Royal Wonder Slice" celebrates this.
