So, some may remember the 4th of July Golden Eagle visit I had. Yesterday, I was sitting on the back porch, and X yards away, I saw a commotion in the grass, and he took off with a 3-foot snake in his claws. Watching him take off was somethin'. Today, I was on the porch, and in my neighbor's tree, I heard all the birds and squirrels screaming. I had to look hard to see him; he blended in, but when I saw him, not XX feet off the ground, I went 'holy shit', he was huge. The birds were bombing him, but he just stood there. When he left, his wingspan was about 4ft. Amazing. I couldn't get my phone out fast enough to get a picture, but I think he'll be back. Wow!
