The Dead Sea Scrolls, particularly the Community Rule (1QS 9:11), do show a striking similarity to the Quran in anticipating the arrival of a final prophet and identifying the Messiah with a priestly (Aaronic) role, sometimes alongside a kingly (Israelite) role.

This older Jewish expectation—confirmed by the Dead Sea Scrolls, which predate classical rabbinic and Christian texts—mirrors the Quranic portrayal of a coming Prophet (understood in Islam as Muhammad) and supports the idea that earlier scriptural traditions recognized both priestly and prophetic figures as central to the end-times narrative, before later Jewish and Christian texts shifted focus mainly to a Davidic Messiah.
