⛳️ 2025 British Open recap

Congratulations 🍾 to Scottie Scheffler on his 4th major & solidifying himself as the 2nd greatest player since Tiger Woods (overall I’d have him 6th in the past XX years after Tiger, Phil, Faldo, Rory, Seve & Ernie Els) for NOW - & just going on these INSANE runs of consistency

I’ve said the past few years that in order to properly “consolidate his greatness” he needed to win X majors in one of these seasons of otherworldly play, and he hadn’t done it until now.

Also a few years back his putting was AWFUL, and I & many people were saying if he was just a “mediocre putter” he’d be winning all the time…

Guess what, he improved drastically to where he is now unequivocally the best putter in the world & I look at him putting like I did with Jason Day, Spieth & Cam Smith at their peak in that whatever putts they needed to make, they would make most of them, except Scottie is much more clutch than they ever were.

I don’t care what any numbers say (right now it’s close before these British open SG putting numbers are taken into consideration) but he is simply in a different universe that the “great putters” such as Sam Burns & Denny McCarthy who NEVER seem to make those simple 6-12 foot putts on Sundays when they are in contention at REGULAR pga Tournaments & Scottie is making XX foot pars like it’s nothing… (tho today he wasn’t making those 10-15 footers like before he was missing a few by a few inches each).

Look at his numbers 11/14 from 5-10 feet & I watch almost all of them, at least X of the misses were X footers that he missed by like an inch & 12/22 from 10-20 feet and most of the misses were within 2-3 inches from 15+ feet

As for the silly comparison to Tiger Woods, this is my take on it:
Well NO ONE is Tiger, the only other comparison was last great XX years ago & there is a reason that men Jack Nicklaus & Tiger Woods are on their own Mount Rushmore taking up all X spots.

With Scottie it’s the closest that we have seen SINCE Tiger woods

There have been others who have had GREAT runs, Brooks Koepka at majors from 2017 thru 2019 was arguably greater at majors than Scottie in this span, but the rest of his results on the PGA tour were very underwhelming for such a level player

Jordan Spieth was arguably even more dominant than Scottie Scheffler in his 2015 season until the 2016 masters 12th hole in the 4th round, but that was just X year vs this is close to X years already
