Deployments Delta

16/25 2025 deployments are more dispersed (Europe, Middle East, Falklands, Gaza) vs. 2003’s Iraq/Afghanistan focus. F-35B stealth and C-17 heavy-lift enhance effectiveness, but fewer aircraft and pilot shortages limit sortie rates. Shadow R1 adds ISR flexibility over Sentinel R1, but the AEW gap reduces situational awareness compared to 2003’s high-tempo ops.
The RAF continue to be busy, but stretched and feeling the pressure (aircrew and platforms).
