But I suspected things were moving towards enshitification. And that I may need to look again for a distro in the future. They removed the $HOME dir only encryption, but one cd workaround. They put Firefox in some other distribution/update format outside of apt. For a while, there was a way to still use apt. Then at some point I stopped resisting, and let FF use the new method. (mounts some kind of mount; IDK the exact name) As of a year ago, FF updates automatically, then goes either stupid (unresponsive) or crazy (pins a core at 100%). Seems the two instances old and new are running. I have to turn FF off, then on. Since - I stopped using it and switched to Chrome. In a recent @lexfridman interview I noticed @dhh making all the right noises. He's one of the high profile Linux switchers and advocates. And I understand he's got a distro too? Will try that one next time maybe. Or some "scientific" distro, there were some I remember. Yeah too bad. But nothing great lasts forever. Will adapt.
