A Delta Air Lines flight headed to Atlanta was forced to make an emergency landing at LAX on Friday after officials reported an engine fire. 

The Boeing 767's engine ignited shortly after takeoff around X p.m., with video from the ground showing flames coming from one of the engines. The aircraft safely returned to LAX and landed without further incident.

Delta Air Lines said the FAA is investigating the event, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
