When Scottie Scheffler won his first Masters, in 2022, Chris Gotterup was putting the finishing touches on his college career, which began at Rutgers but was culminating at Oklahoma.

He finished fourth at ASU’s event.
Then runner-up to Ludvig Aberg at Big 12s.
Ninth at the NCAA Norman Regional.
And finally, fifth at NCAAs.

He won the Haskins and Nicklaus awards, and then turned pro.

Three years later, Gotterup is trying to somehow chase down Scheffler at Portrush.
