Re: 1, I think that should be the default but not a requirement. I think, looking at $AMD’s release schedule, they’re set to pull ahead in terms of product. 

Re:2, I think ROCm will catch up faster than people think. In particular, new AI tools like cursor etc make it much easier to create great software, and a soft SWE labor market means that it is easier than ever to get talent to work on the problem. Companies also definitely prefer open source solutions.
