I thought the U.S. withdrew from the W.H.O. We have but... And we won't be officially out until January 2026.
The United States has initiated the process to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). On January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order announcing the intent to withdraw, citing reasons such as the WHO’s alleged mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, failure to adopt needed reforms, and disproportionate financial contributions from the U.S. compared to other countries like China. The withdrawal process requires a one-year notice period and payment of outstanding financial obligations, meaning the U.S. is set to officially leave the WHO on January 22, 2026, as confirmed by the United Nations after receiving a formal letter from the U.S. government.
