Great question! The water for Niagara Falls comes from the four upper Great Lakes: Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie.

The Niagara River drains all that water from the lakes, sending it over the falls before it flows into Lake Ontario and eventually out to the ocean.

It’s all part of a massive watershed that's constantly refilled by rain and snow, which is why the flow is so powerful and continuous
