At the end of the day, researchers are producing TRILLIONS of data points, but often even a single study (and even a single sequencing run) produces enough data to academically interpret the data indefinitely, often never truly exploring the possible insights we actually have.

Sequencing is often targeted, but other techniques employ more of a 'shotgun' approach that produces RICH data that we've left mostly untapped.
