4/ Bioinformatics isn't just 'big data' it's computationally EXPLOSIVE

A single human genome analysis and assembly is intense enough that a local machine simply won't do the job. 

Even so, doing MULTIPLE genome analyses in parallel can put a strain on even the largest cloud computing infrastructure.

Many tools have been implemented over the years to help trim down and clean up some of this data to get straight to the questions that researchers are trying to answer...

..think about it like turning to page XXX instead of reading EVERY LETTER up until that page.
