If they want to compete in the IDE space, instead of being ahead of the curve (as with ICP) they’d be years behind. And they have afaik no special competence in IDE building. Furthermore, the more sophisticated Caffeine becomes, the more like its competitors like Cursor it becomes, and the less it’s a tool for real beginners. Once you have a big featureset, you’ll need to organize it, and suddenly you’re competing with MSFT on building IDEs, something they have decades of experience with and the ability to put untold sums of money into.
