Chief executive of tech firm Astronomer, Andy Byron, has resigned after video of him hugging a colleague at a #Coldplay concert went viral.

In a statement on LinkedIn, the company said Byron has tendered his resignation and its board of directors has accepted.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company said in its post on #LinkedIn.

Astronomer earlier said the pair were on leave while the incident was investigated.

Footage of Byron embracing the firm’s HR director, Kristin Cabot, at a Coldplay concert in Boston, Massachusetts spread around the internet and news sites this week.
