I don’t know if other countries are getting ready, but I’m grateful our leaders are preparing for the worst-case scenario.
Whether it's the newly launched hydropower project on the lower Yarlung Tsangpo River, the upcoming Phase II of the South-to-North Water Diversion’s eastern and central routes set to begin next year, the Yangtze-to-Han River water transfer project that has already completed key control nodes, or the Ganjiang Grand Canal project, the flood control, drought relief, water allocation, and rural water management projects being rushed across the country - they all point to one thing: China's top leadership has come to recognize that, with the US withdrawing from the Paris Agreement, global cooperation to curb climate change is no longer viable.
