every ~12.8 mins, ethereum locks in actions (transactions, balances, etc.), that’s the "finalized state," and it can’t be changed.

@boundless_xyz made a dope tool called "the signal." it’s:

>> open-source (any chain can use it)
>> zero-knowledge proof-based, so it’s fast, cheap, and trustless for verifying and sharing decisions across systems.

basically, "the signal" squishes ethereum’s finalized state into a tiny file that other chains can grab and check easily.

why’s this a big deal?

if you’re in web3, you’ve probably used a few chains. they can be slow ‘cause getting data often means dealing with middlemen. "the signal" cuts that out, letting chains tap straight into ethereum’s finalized state, no hassle.

plus, chains don’t always talk to each other well (hence wrapped tokens). "the signal" fixes this by enabling smooth cross-chain chats, shared liquidity, and smart contracts that read ethereum directly.

tons of chains like base, linea, arbitrum, and optimism are already plugged into "the signal," and more are joining daily. gBerry
