They always assume we are optimizing for total return. I’m optimizing for sleep well at night with cash flow coming in and not having to stress about selling stock in a down market like so many total return investors have been as of late in the Trump down market. I’m hybrid so I definitely have growth (largest holding is $VTI and I invest in $QQQ too) but I like my cash flow from dividends without needing to sell shares as I know a lot of investors find it hard to do so, including me.
