ICP has EOP. It’s not Caffeine that has it. We want to drive traffic to ICP, not to Caffeine. The sole purpose of Caffeine is driving use to ICP. I would prefer to see Dfinity recommending people like Jason to stay in the IDE they are familiar with, but just tell the AI to deploy to ICP instead, so they get orthogonal persistence and don’t lose databases. What if Jason tries Caffeine, and he likes the result (his app running on ICP) but he feels limited by the Caffeine IDE, and due to messaging he thinks Caffeine and ICP are a unit, so when he abandons Caffeine he also abandons ICP? The goal is not to drive more people to Caffeine, it’s to drive them to ICP. ICP is the product you can invest in, Caffeine is a rather costly marketing tool to get people to discover ICP. So please, no messaging about “Caffeine > Replit” or “Caffeine > Cursor”, because it isn’t. It’s the other way around. What is better is targeting ICP for deployment. Caffeine is a good introduction tool to put in the hands of absolute beginners, to demo ICP. For anyone who is already using a more capable IDE, suggesting they switch to Caffeine is /counter-productive/, when all we *really* want is for people to open *any* IDE and tell the AI to deploy to ICP. Pretending that “Only Caffeine can do ICP” is to sell out ICP market share of deployment platforms in order to build Caffeine market share among vibe coding IDEs. Totally the wrong priority - we have invested in ICP, not Caffeine. Again, Caffeine is just a fancy, flashing neon sign meant to pull customers off the street into our store - the sign itself is not the business, and can’t make profit on its own. And if we start tearing down other signs that point to our store because “they compete with our sign” then we are really taking a machine gun to our own foot.
