Sometimes I think about the things we’ve survived and I get angry.

Not at the pain, but at how normal we made it feel.

How many times we let people walk away, while we stayed behind picking up the pieces, still smiling the next day.

We figured it out alone.
No one noticed. No one asked.

They saw the eyeliner, the posts, the laughter… and assumed we were okay.

But they didn’t see the nights we begged God to help us hold on.

Or the mornings we barely recognized ourselves in the mirror.

They didn’t hear us whisper, “Please, just let me make it through this.”

And the worst part?
Some of the people who claimed to care vanished the second things got heavy.

They called us strong, so they didn’t have to show up.

But strength isn’t about looking fine.
It’s waking up empty and still choosing to try.

It’s carrying silent battles while making room for others to breathe.

It’s being disappointed over and over and still having the courage to hope again.

So to every girl reading this:

If they couldn’t see what you were carrying, that’s on them.

If they mistook your silence for peace, or your pain for drama, that’s on them too.

You don’t owe anyone your silence.
Or softness, if they never gave you safety.

You don’t have to downplay what hurt you just to make them comfortable.

You made it.
Even if you’re still healing.
Even if you cry between the progress.
Even if no one clapped.

And when they come back pretending they never left..
Don’t explain. Don’t justify.

Just smile.
Not because it’s funny.
But because they watched you break… and now they’ll have to watch you rise.

And that’s enough.
